Close similarity between Akshay Kumar's Baby and Phantom's storyline has made the makers of Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer postponed the release date yet again.
Kabir Khan's film was initially scheduled to release on October 2, 2014, however the date was already booked by other makers for major releases, and therefore the date was postponed to April 2015. And now, the release date has further been postponed to August.
The plot of the two films is said to be quite similar. Phantom tells the tale of Daniyal, who travels from India to Europe, America and West Asia seeking justice, post the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. While Baby on the other hand, revolves around Ajay Rajput, who journeys to Istanbul, Nepal and Abu Dhabi on a special mission.
The report stated that the female leads in both films play special agents.
Phantom is a spy-action-thriller in which Saif Ali Khan is reportedly playing a spy while Katrina is playing a photo journalist. The film has been shot in Beirut, Turkey, Canada, Mumbai, Kashmir and Punjab.
Phantom is based on post 26/11 Mumbai attacks and global terrorism. Saif Ali Khan has reportedly learnt Kurdish for his role. It is for the first time that Saif will share screen space with Katrina in a film.
