5 things you dont know about Sidharth Malhotra

Ladies, here’s why this quiet 29-year-old hunk will be your perfect man. We decode the way to his heart:

He wants to be the real deal
“Eventually, looks die and what matters is conversation. So she should be a good talker,” he said in an interview to Filmfare.

He’s not afraid of bucking down
During his stint as assistant director for My Name is Khan, director Karan Johar made him sweep floors and run last-minute errands like finding props; all the back-door dirty work.

He’ll make that extra effort
“We all do this stupid stuff to get attention,” he said in an interview to IANS. “I remember following a girl just to find out what class she was going to and what her timetable is in college.”

He will bring on the giggles to chase you
“Laughter always works, compliments work… so does being honest,” is his formula to chase a girl as revealed during promotions for his film Hasee Toh Phasee.

Finally, he’s got the right attitude
His mantra for life is to keep your women happy! We are happy indeed.

SIX STYLE HACKING TIPS TO LOOK LIKE A CELEB

Celebrity Style Hacking Tips on India Kishmish

It’s only the first week of January and we’ve already got some serious #styleinspo from our favourite celebs. They’ve been spotted in the hottest trends – leather skirts, colour-blocked dresses and embellished blouses. And the best part – we spill their style secrets.
Here are six lessons that we learnt from the stars that you should follow too.

Lesson #1: Flaunt your curves with a voluminous skirt
Pear-shaped girls, pay attention! Highlight your narrow midriff with a fitted, high-waisted skirt and pair it with an off shoulder blouse – Priyanka Chopra shows you a great way to wear the trend.
Lesson #2: Go for oversized monochrome checks
If you’re paying attention, you know plaid is back. Swap your block-coloured skater dress with a Tartan shift dress this winter. We love how Nicky Hilton keeps her look minimal by letting the print do all the talking. Pair your checks with boots and a casual sling bag.

Lesson #3: You can’t go wrong with pleats
Comme des Garçons and Givenchy showed us how to do pleats this season. Both flirty and feminine, the pleated skirt is the perfect choice for a work conference or a brunch case in point Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike who wore it to Variety’s creative impact awards brunch. Try it in sorbet hues, paired with printed blouses.
Lesson #4: Leather skirts bring an edgy element to your casual look
How do you go from casual to chic? Switch your basic cotton skirt with a mini leather version. Whether it’s a coffee leather skirt or a fitted black alternative, this on-trend piece is fast becoming a wardrobe staple and is ideal for a chilly day. Take inspiration from Shraddha Kapoor and wear it with a sequinned blouse and knee length boots for a relaxed, yet fun night-out look.

Lesson #5: An embellished blouse doesn’t have to be dressy
Not sure about the trend? Don’t stress. There is a way to tone down the excessive shine and still sparkle. Let your textured blouse speak for itself by pairing it with neutral tones like black, white, beige or navy. Felicity Jones makes a statement with her floral applique top and a puffy A-line skirt.
Lesson #6: Add layers to your outfit by colour blocking
Is your outfit missing a pop of colour? Throw on a colour-blocked jacket over a dual-tone shift dress like Jacqueline Fernandez. The trick is to pick contrasting primary colours or shades of a solid colour – crimson with fuchsia, emerald with navy, peach with mint or even coral with cobalt.

Arjun Kapoor is our perpetual #MCM (that’s Man Crush Monday for those who don’t know). Whether he’s the super chilled, lost lover from Finding Fanny, average Joe from 2 States or the ‘70s gangster from Gunday, Kapoor has transitioned from one look to the other seamlessly. Off-screen, this Kapoor has carried his own weight when it comes to style choices (if you had a style icon for a sister you would make sure you clean up good too!).
Recently we spotted him looking sharp in a purple Nehru jacket, olive shirt and jeans. The actor’s choice of pairing non-conformist shades really got our attention. So we went ahead and broke down the look with easy shop-able options for you from Jabong so you can easily steal his style. To round it up, pair the look with statement accessories – a bold timepiece, Derby shoes and a graphic print pocket square. Now go out and show your friends classic jackets don’t have to be boring.

How to Get The Dolly Ki Doli Look

Ask Sonam Kapoor how to deck you up for the next wedding you’re invited to and who knows, she might read out an entire wardrobe item list for you. Truth be told, Sonam has nailed the modern bride look in her new movie Dolly Ki Doli. She looks unconventional but stays traditional, adds avant-garde details but lives it up in deeply embellished ghaghras and finally, makes sure the new bridal look for the year is anything but mellow. So we put together a few things you might need this season to nail Dolly’s look.

A Traditional Lehenga with a Twist
A good lehenga should adhere to a few rules: a good fit, a vibrant colour and a neatly stitched blouse. Now, what Sonam showcases in the movie poster is not a conventional one. It’s a little on the subtle side. The lehenga is simple, parades itself in monotone and keeps those accessories at bay. Subtle yet colourful but packed with a punch – notice that there are no jarring Swarovskis and crazy sequins. Now that’s how you make a statement.

Aviators
Have you ever wondered which sunglasses go well with Indian wear? We did and we agree with Sonam. Aviators have always been trendsetters and on Indian outfits, they tend to take the chic factor up a notch. These days aviators come in varied shades and cool reflective lens – just choose one that suits your outfit well. For all those who love convention, a classic aviator is all you need – with it’s dynamic military looks and vintage-y frames.

Leather Jacket
Now leather jackets on lehengas might just be way too bold but Sonam does it so effortlessly. When looking for a cover-up to use, buy one that is staid, refined and structured so as to combat the flouncy exuberant lehenga. Reams of fabric needs a structured top to keep it in place and to flatter your shape.

Sneakers
We all know sports shoes are the shizz – they seem to keep you toned, help with your everyday look and generally make you look fabulous on a daily basis. But teaming them with a lehenga is a first, even for Sonam. But she wears them effortlessly and pulls it off – maybe wearing sneakers on Indian wear is far too unconventional for a regular girl but you can wear them on kurtis and sport them with ethnic jackets. Whatever it is, it shouldn’t stop you from ogling at the fab fare we have here, right?

Hair Accessories
All those maang tikkas have come to some use. With fashion going traditional, hair accessories too have gone unconventional. You can easily sport hair band with your denim shirt and can also easily pair it with your kurti. Talk about multiple benefits. Choose ones with many chains, unique charms and fun crystals – they will add the glam effect to your next outfit in a jiffy.

The Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star’s charming smile is sure to lure you in. The 28-year-old talks to The Juice Magazine in an exclusive chat.

Are you fashion conscious?
I don’t know if I am trying to make a statement, but I am definitely trying to be comfortable. I can wear just shorts and even crumpled T-shirts. Sometimes I do care and put on a pair of jeans, shoes and a crisp shirt. I am fashionable sometimes.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Other than staring at my wall, I like to stare at my television and books. I play the guitar, normal stuff.

How was it walking the ramp for India Online Fashion Week (IOFW) by Jabong?
I walked the ramp for designer Nitin Bal Chauhan. I think it’s nice what Jabong is doing, giving a chance to a bunch of aspirants and uncovering new talent. They are getting a good opportunity and they don’t even have to pay. So I think it was great to be a part of it.

Six hacks to looking like a Hollywood and Bollywood Celebs

Are you ready for some serious #styleinspo from our favourite celebs this week? They’ve been spotted in the hottest trends – off-shoulder blouses, icy tones, stripes and tricky trousers. And the best part – we decode their style secrets just for you.

Lesson #1: Wear all white
Taylor Swift’s look proves that an all-white ensemble is both minimal and super-cute. And while white might not be flattering to all shapes, here’s how you cheat it. Throw on a lightweight cover up over a plain white skater dress and add a headband for an old-world charm.

Lesson #2: Sunny hues + icy tones = win
Forget autumnal colours – pair sorbet hues with pastel shades for an interesting pop of colour. Take a cue from Huma Qureshi and try a canary yellow printed blouse with a subtle cadet grey skirt.

Lesson #3: Off-shoulders are back
Showing skin never looked this good. Step away from deep necklines and revealing backs – an off-shoulder blouse is the way to go (think Ralph Russo’s Autumn/Winter 2014-15 show). Pair your printed version with a skirt in the same hue – a style that Jacqueline Fernandez wears so well.

Lesson #4: Go cazh with grunge
Before you call us out on this one, there is a way to re-invent grunge without looking totally unkempt and we think Emma Roberts does it effortlessly. Put on your basics and tie a striped jumper around your waist for that casual grungy effect. Add oversized sunnies and leopard print sneakers and you’re good to go.

Lesson #5: How to nail tricky trousers
If there’s one person to constantly take style lessons from, it’s Sonam Kapoor. As always, the actor looked sharp and nailed the trouser trend – and you can too. Keep the rest of your look single toned and pick a trouser that cuts off right at your ankles. Opt for a well-tailored pair of trousers to make this style work for you.

Lesson #6: Mash-up your stripes
Matching prints can be tricky, but Sienna Miller shows us how it’s done. Team up your vertical stripes with horizontal stripes – the secret here is to keep the colours simple. Channel Miller’s classic style with a crisp collared monochrome shirt and pair it with a wraparound midi skirt.

Eight hacks to looking like a Celebrities

We love Fridays – and with good reason. Every week, we’re hunting for style inspiration. And this time around, our favourite celebs didn’t disappoint. From tangerine to print-on-print and colour blocking, these stylish ladies nail all the hottest trends.

Lesson #1: Edgy and feminine is the new black
Jessica Alba shows us a whole new way to do leather and ladylike. Take a cue from Alba, who paired her black crop top with a voluminous skirt and threw on a leather jacket for an edge.

Lesson #2: Match muted florals like a pro
If there’s anything we’ve learnt, it’s that Kangana Ranaut can do no wrong. You too can experiment with floral separates – pair a peplum blouse and a roomy pastel skirt for a formal, elegant look – an outfit that Ranaut has perfected.

Lesson #3: Play with polka dots and breton stripes
Ever tried print on print? The trick here is to stick to monochrome when you’re mixing two busy prints. Keep the rest of your look simple – Emma Stone nails the trend.

Lesson #4: Bold shades are the key to colour blocking
Colour blocking is all about bold combinations.  And while Poorna Jagannathan’s outfit is a heady mix of a vibrant cobalt blue and white, it’s those hints of yellow, grey and light pink that make it all the more striking.

Lesson #5: Swap your skirt with a skort
Ditch the predictable mini skirt for a printed skort like Taylor Swift. The playsuit creates the illusion of a dress, but is actually has a casual element because of the shorts. Be it solid separates or printed playsuits, a skort is the way to do it.

Lesson #6: How to wear tangerine
Who said you can’t wear head-to-toe orange? We love that Neha Dhupia has gone all out with this sunset-inspired shade. Like the actor, it’s safe to keep the accessories subtle – a champagne clutch and dull gold pumps to let the outfit stand out. Also, the little slit on the dress gives the bright colour a break.

Lesson #7: How to make a pant suit fun
There is a way to wear a suit to a cocktail party. Do it like Pernia Qureshi and show off your toned body by pairing printed separates with a risqué neckline instead of a regular collared shirt for the suit to look more fun and less corporate.

Lesson #8: Borrow distressed denims from the boys
Ripped jeans never looked this good. Anushka Sharma makes a case for up-sized boyfriend jeans – take inspiration from the actor and pair your version with a bright coloured blouse and nude t-strap peep-toes. It’s a look that’s both girly and laid-back.

Style File: Sonakshi Sinha

We first spotted Sonakshi Sinha in her debut film, Dabangg delivering a power packed performance that firmly placed her on our one to watch for list. While Sinha was breaking box office records, but when it came to style she had plenty of hits and misses over the years. From staying in character off-screen to picking outfits that weren’t age appropriate, the actor has been guilty of all. However, 2014 saw her in a new style – she become more comfortable in her own skin, swapped her long tresses in favour of a shorter do and started experimenting with a lot more silhouettes. And we like this new version of her to add to an already admirable acting talent. Well played, Sonakshi.
